Meet Governor LePage: The Man That Hates Solar Power
For years Solar Wolf Energy has been getting phone calls for us to install a solar array on a past customer's summer home in Maine. For years we have had to let our amazing customers know that it may be a better option to drive hours into the Appalachians and mine coal for their own power, because it may be easier. It appears that even after TV broadcasts, newspaper articles, constituents asking, and even today the Maine House voting 108-38 voting in favor of changing the exiting archaic net metering law, Gov LePage will more than likely attempt to overturn this with a veto.Ted "The Wolf" Strzelecki
However, there's light at the end of the tunnel, and that light very well may be sun...shining on solar panels. He cannot overturn a 2/3 vote. This is good news because at current standing the numbers should remove his disdain for renewable energy. Odd, considering how beautiful and green Maine really is. In 2017 Gov LePage has previously stated he would fire the 3 PUC commissioners that he appointed because of their outlook on solar, although he doesn't have the authority too.
The United States sees Maine as a beautiful state with hard working blue collared people that are, by their own design, patient and less in a hurry for technology. They are viewed as happier more relaxed. Maine is a comfortable, inviting, and serene place. However when residents were asked if they would like solar as a more prevalent and renewable option for power in The Pine Tree State there is an overwhelming yes. It appears that Gov. LePage has either missed that last part or perhaps simply doesn't care what Mainers actually want.
